If you’ve a spider issue in the home of yours and are considering trying an ant spraying that you’ve nearby, you’ll probably need to know whether it is going to have some effect on spiders too. Insecticide sprays are similar in several elements, but naturally different insects respond differently to typical toxins.

The answer is yes. There are many different types of insecticides which kill spiders instantly. Some of them are known as “insect killers” or “mosquito sprays.” When you want to get rid of spiders, then you should use one of those. Those are exactly what they sound like. They kill a lot of different kinds of insects in one shot.

About Black Widow Spiders

The most common type of spider which inhabits homes is the black widow. They’re very, very common, and they don’t even necessarily need any kind of “food” to survive. They just need a place to hide.

Black widows are not “dangerous” spiders by any means. In fact, they’re extremely non-lethal. If you’ve ever gone hiking, or even just out for a stroll in the woods, then you’ve no doubt come in contact with black widows before. They’re very, very non-lethal. You can touch them, and you can pick them up, you can put them in a container, you can throw them against the wall. They don’t do anything. They just spin their webs and watch you in their round black eyes. They’re very non-lethal.

Do Black Widows Bite?

Do Black Widows Bite

To be honest, most of the time, they don’t even bite. They’ll shoot their little fangs at you if you’re trying to take them out of the container they’re in, but that’s about it. When they DO bite, it’s extremely rare.

Basically, the non-lethal widows can reproduce, but only the female bites. They don’t actually want to kill you.

How to Get Rid of Black Widows Naturally

If you’re looking for a non-toxic way of eliminating black widows, you might as well use a vacuum. As I said, they’re very non-lethal, and if you encounter one, the first thing you should do is pick it up with a container and throw it outside. While you have the container in your hand, take a look at what type of spider it is. If you see a red mark under the spider’s belly, then it’s a female and should be treated differently.

If you see a red mark under the female’s belly but not the male’s, then you should still proceed with picking it up with a container and throwing it out. If you see a red mark under the male’s belly, then you should definitely kill it.

You can use it to get rid of the non-lethal widows, and that’s what’s important. In the other article, we mentioned that you should kill black widows if you see a red mark under their belly. This is only for the actual venomous black widows. The non-venomous ones will just give you a small bump, so you shouldn’t waste your time.

Final Words

Depending on where you live, there could be more types of black widows. If this is the case, you might want to research them individually, to see what’s going to kill them.

After you’ve done your research, you need to find where they hide. In most cases, they’re going to hide in dark places. You should look everywhere a potential spider hideaway might be. Look in locations such as behind the toilet, the electrical outlet, the TV, the refrigerator, the toys in the corner, and pretty much everywhere.

You need to find where they’re entering and leaving. You can do this in a few different ways. You can remove the back of the toilet and look for holes. You can remove the sheetrock and look behind it. You can remove the outlet and look behind that. You can remove the drywall and look in behind that.
